About Melissa Pratt

With one foot in the narrative world and one foot in the documentary world, Melissa is a versatile cinematographer. On one end she loves to create intricate lighting designs and be able to express stories visually through meticulously designed frames. On the other end, she loves to be on the go, with the challenge of finding the story and capturing it in the most dynamic way as it unfolds. She graduated DePaul University with a BFA in Film and Television with a concentration in Cinematography and a Minor in Documentary. Her Goal? To create films that capture the audience visually and help change someone’s perspective.

When not shooting films, she is a 2nd Assistant Camera in Local 600 and she does photography, paints, reads and decorates cakes in her free time.
